Story and marketing sections

These sections help you tell the story behind your clothes and collect email addresses. There are no countdown timers or urgency messages in this theme.

Fabric and care story

Explains your materials and care. It shows up to four points (blocks) and a "spec card" with fiber, weight and care. You type the card text in the section, so it is the same wherever the section appears.

Editor name: Fabric and care story. Where you can add it: Home page, Pages, Product pages. Blocks: up to 4.

The section is not in the default product page. It is meant for the home page or any other page. You can still add it to the product page with Add section.

HeadingTextNatural fibers first
TextRich textWe start with cotton, wool, linen and silk.

Tips

  • Type the Card heading, Fiber, Weight and Care yourself. The card is the same wherever the section is shown, so write text that fits the whole page, for example a general fabric story for a collection.
  • The Macro layout shows a full-width image band and a garment-label strip instead of the card. It also adds a short caption and a link under the image band (see Image caption, Image link label and Image link). The image needs to be set for the caption and link to show.
  • The section is not in the default product page. You can add it to the product page, where it appears below the product details, but the text is the same on every product that uses the template.

Shop the look

An image with numbered or dotted hotspots. Each hotspot points to a product. A list beside the image shows each product with its thumbnail, title and price.

Editor name: Shop the look. Where you can add it: Home page, Pages, Product pages. Blocks: up to 6.

  • You can add up to six hotspots.
  • On product pages this section can show a look for that product.

Tips

  • Release date is free text, so "Early March" works.
  • Every customer who signs up gets the Customer tag you set (the default is capsule-launch). On release day, create a customer segment with that tag in Customers > Segments and email it with Shopify Email or your email app.

Spacing: Top padding (56 px, 0 to 200 px), Bottom padding (48 px, 0 to 200 px). These add space above and below the section.

Tips

  1. Turn on Show popup.
  2. Choose After a delay or When the visitor is about to leave (desktop) in Show.
  3. Set Delay and Show from page view. The popup waits until that page view or later. Use a long delay: popups can hurt first impressions.
  4. Set Show again after dismissal (days) so visitors who close it are not asked again too soon.
  • To edit the popup, open the home page in the theme editor. Newsletter popup is at the bottom of the sidebar, in the same list as Cart drawer and below the Footer group. That list has no heading.
  • In the theme editor, the popup is not timed. It opens when you select the section and closes when you select something else.
  • The popup does not show on the cart page, the password page or the gift card page.
  • Show on mobile controls whether phone visitors see it.
  • On phones the popup is 350 px wide with the image on top.
